This might seem a bit crazy to all of you, but I actually grew up on the movie Nine to Five, starring Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda. My Mom would just always be playing that movie in our house growing up for some reason. So while this news that Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin will be reuniting for a new comedy may not mean much to most people, to me it strikes up nostalgic memories in my life. I am sure I am not the only one reacting this way to this news.
The show is aimed for Netflix, and will be called Grace and Frankie. The show will focus on the two lead stars, Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, as long time rivals brought together by a sudden change in their “marital circumstances”. I am putting that in quotes because as of right now, no one is really sure the details or just what that means. All we know is that Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin will be working together again, which is news enough to get me excited. Also, the simple fact that the show will be on Netflix already speaks volumes about it. I mean, honestly, every show on Netflix has been pretty boss so far, wouldn’t you agree?
The last point I wanna make, which may seem odd is, I hope Dolly Parton ends up on the show at one point. That may seem odd to say, but Dolly was the third star in Nine To Five, and if Grace and Frankie has a Dolly cameo and full Nine To Five reunion, you will be looking at one very happy man. I will admit, I enjoy the simple things.
